Experience in Bearing Remetal and Manufacture

We bring decades of specialist engineering experience and knowledge to plain bearing issues for the power generation, refining, process plant, rail and marine propulsion industries. Our expertise extends from diagnosis and reporting on faults, through to remetal, manufacture, replacement and upgrade solutions. Our repair expertise means we can apply the exact casting, machining and testing procedures required.

From our beginnings manufacturing tiny Broomwade compressor bearings in the 1970's to remetalling 9-tonne pump bearings out of hydro power stations, we've perfected the process required for both those sizes and everything in between.  Hydro turbine bearings are often seen in our workshop, along with tilting pad journal bearings, thrust plates, pump bearings, thrust bearings, in fact all types of plain bearings.

Benefits of White Metal Bearings

White metal bearings have considerable benefits. Under normal operating conditions they have a very long life, they allow large momentary overloads, are able to handle lubricant problems and if misalignment occurs they are able to conform and compensate.

White metal bearing failure is seldom sudden or catastrophic. Typically the result is an increase in running clearances that can be easily detected by vibration analysis or an increase in noise. This means that damage to expensive rotating equipment is avoided or minimized.

Kingsbury, Messinger, Renk, Dodge, Glacier and Waukesha bearings are included in the wide range of new bearings sourced from our worldwide supplier base. Replacement Howden, Mycom, and Broomwade compressor bearings are manufactured in our workshop and high-use items are carried in stock.
